New iPad App Released for Scouting Women’s Lacrosse

It took West Shore Technologies’ SportsBoard Scout only a few months to make an impact on the sport of men’s lacrosse. Now the revolutionary iPad application designed to streamline the arduous tasks of scouting and talent assessment is ready for the women’s game. Today, West Shore Technologies announces the release of Lacrosse Scout for Women, and prominent women’s coaches at all levels are signing up. Today’s Problem
Most coaches record assessment data on clipboards or in binders and then (1) can’t read what they wrote, (2) aren’t able to write down everything they observe, (3) aren’t able to easily take photos and link them to the data for each player, (4) don’t have time to put the data into a spreadsheet or database for more thorough analysis, and (5) can’t look at historical data about a player’s performance over a multi-year period.
The Solution
SportsBoard Lacrosse Scout provides lacrosse coaches with metric categories including Stick, Speed, Defensive Strength, Offensive Strength and Intangibles, as well as features for capturing text notes, voicememos, profile pictures and photos, and footage. Coaches can rate the players on a +/neutral/- or 1-5 basis for any of the metrics during or after the assessment event. Lacrosse Scout automatically syncs the data to West Shore Technologies’ secure server on the internet where the coaches can login to review and analyze data for decision-making purposes.
“It will streamline our recruiting data and allow us to spend more time on other aspects of coaching,” said Amy Bokker, Women’s Lacrosse Head Coach at Stanford University. “The thought of not having to re-enter notes from binders and packets from recruiting events makes this so worth it.”
West Shore Technologies used SportsBoard Lacrosse Scout, which it created for men’s lacrosse as a foundation, and then incorporated unique features into it that are unique to the women’s form of the game.
“Jay Cooney, our Women’s Soccer Assistant Head Coach who is using SportsBoard Soccer Scout, introduced us to West Shore and Lacrosse Scout,” continued Bokker. “Lacrosse Scout, at that time, was clearly designed for the Men’s game; but West Shore took the time to listen to our needs, incorporate them into that product, and create a completely separate p product for us. That’s service.”
West Shore Technologies is the enterprise software-as-a-service (SaaS) company that is optimizing scouting and assessment for collegiate, professional, high school and club-level lacrosse, basketball and soccer. By automating the clipboard via the iPad and then syncing assessment data from any number of coaches with servers in the cloud, coaches can spend more time analyzing players and making decisions and less time on the busy work required to input the data for analysis. SportsBoard facilitates better team rosters and more effective strategies and helps coaches achieve their ultimate goal: Winning!
The new wave of recruiting and scouting
