Facilities are vital to our program’s success and are becoming more and more important. Our new game and practice fields at University Park will be ready for the fall of 2012. The quality of University Park meets the high standards when comparing it to the nation’s best programs. Our lockers, however, are the original lockers installed in 1969. We need to upgrade our locker room to truly meet the bar set for a top ten program.
Below list the proposed improvements for our locker room relocation and updates:
Custom wooden lockers - $22,560 (JMU administration is providing $21,440 for metal locker and it will cost our program this additional amount to upgrade to wood)
Rubber flooring - approx. $4,500
Couches and other seating - approx. $3,000
Projector and screen - approx. $2,000
We need your help to make these upgrades happen. Without private funding, the only improvement made to our new locker room will be relocation and new metal lockers. This is an excellent opportunity for alumni, parents, and fans of the program to make an impact on JMU Lacrosse. In support of this project, we ask you to consider sponsoring a locker for $750, or making a gift of your choice. Our goal is to raise $32,000 and make each one of the proposed improvements. We need at least $22,560 by December 1st to ensure we get the custom wooden lockers.
No gift is too small to make a difference. We welcome gifts from individuals, companies, or groups (i.e. sponsored by Class of 20XX). Additionally, every sponsor and gift of $750 or more will be permanently recognized in the locker room. Your legacy of impact will be with our girls for years to come.
We have sent a letter, a rendering of the custom wooden lockers we intend to purchase, as well as a pledge card to the mailing address we have on file.
