Carney Selected for Hall of Fame Induction


COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Former Maryland All-American and current assistant coach Quinn Carney has been selected for induction into the Potomac Chapter of the US Lacrosse Hall of Fame.
As a student-athlete, Carney was a four-year starter from 1998-2001 and earned numerous accolades throughout her career. She was a two-time All-American and Academic All-American and was named to three All-ACC teams. She was tabbed the MVP of the 2001 ACC Championship and was named to the ensuing NCAA Championship All-Tournament Team. The Flemington, N.J., native guided Maryland to four national championships during her career.
Carney became an assistant under head coach Cathy Reese in 2008. She has helped lead Maryland to three ACC titles and a national championship in 2010.
The induction ceremony is set for October 22, 2011, at the University Club of Washington, D.C. She will join former Terps Suzanne Tyler, Susan Abrams Merritt, Cindy Timchal, Jen Adams, Maureen Scott Dupcak, and Reese in the chapter
